Iran, Iraq Establish Direct Communications Link during Arbaeen Rituals

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Two direct communications links were launched between Iran and Iraq which will increase the quality of communications to a great extent during the Arbaeen ceremonies.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iranian Infrastructures Communications Company Mohammad Jafarpour said that direct talks between officials of the two countries are ongoing in order to offer better communications services to the pilgrims heading to the Iraqi holy city of Karbala during the Arbaeen rituals. 

A direct communications link has been launched between Iran and Iraq for the first time which can increase the quality of communications services, he said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the CEO of Infrastructures Communications Company pointed to the more flexibility provided in the field of international communications and added, “Presently, we are planning the launch of international communications services. In addition, the launch of the Turkmenistan corridor and the South-North Corridor have been put atop of the agenda of the company.”

Stating that his company is seeking the cooperation of China and India in the implementation of the project of optical fiber cable of the Persian Gulf littoral states, Jafarpour added that the launch of international transit projects, in addition to increasing income, will create stability and sustainability for the country.
