Iran’s Fasihi Takes Bronze at Astana Indoor Meet

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian sprinter Farzaneh Fasihi won a bronze medal at the Astana Indoor Meet for Amin Tuyakov Prizes on Saturday.

Fasihi came third, clocking 7.23 seconds in the women's 60 meters.

Bahamian athlete Anthonique Strachan won the gold medal with a time of 7.21 and the silver medal went to Magdalena Stefanowics from Poland with 7.22 seconds.

The Astana Indoor Meet for Amin Tuyakov Prizes 2024 was held on Saturday at the Qazaqstan Athletics Sports Complex in Astana, Kazakhstan. This is the first World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting of the year, and the first to be held in Asia.

Some of the prominent athletes participating in the event were the World record holder in the men’s pole vault, Armand Duplantis, Tokyo Olympics champion in 200m Andre de Grasse, and three-time Diamond League champion Tobi Amusan.

The World Athletics indoor gold meeting was offering at least USD$7000 prize money for each discipline, including USD$3000 to the winner.
