Iran’s Mazandaran Exports 128,000 Tons of Goods to Iraq: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The observer of the customs offices of Mazandaran province said that 128,000 tons of non-oil goods, valued at more than $143 million, were exported from this northern Iranian province to the neighboring Iraq in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 19, 2024).

Amir Jamshidi termed Iraq as the number one importer of products from Mazandaran province.

He went on to say that dairy, paper, plastic and meat products, pastries, confections, cocoa and rice were the main products exported from this province to Iraq from March 21, 2023 to March 19, 2024.

The United Arab Emirates was the main exporter of products to Mazandaran province last year, he said, adding that more than one million tons of products, valued at over $792 million, were imported into the customs offices of this province from the UAE, accounting for 40 and 36 percent share of total products imported into the provincial customs offices in weight and value respectively, Mehr news agency reported.

In this period, animal barley and corn, wheat, metallurgy coke, fats, vegetable and animal oils, wood, electrical appliances and chemicals were the main products imported into the country through the customs offices of the province, Jamshidi added.
