Iran Downs India at AFC U-16 Championship India 2016 Qualifying
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran recorded its second win at the AFC U-16 Championship India 2016 qualifying, defeating India 3-0 on Friday.
In the match held at the Gostaresh Foolad Stadium in Tabriz, Iran, Mohammad Sharifi opened the scoring for the Iranian outfit in the 17th minute.
Amir Khodamoradi extended Iran’s lead in the 43rd minute and Mohammad Ghaderi was on target in the 65th minute.
Iran, who had defeated Lebanon 3-1 on Wednesday, moved to top of Group E table with six points.
Iran football team will play Bahrain next in the AFC U-16 2016 qualifiers on Sunday.
The tournament is the qualification phase for next year’s AFC Under-16 championships, where the youngsters will then try to reach the FIFA 2017 Under-17 World Cup, which will be held in India.
