Gazans Hold Rallies to Support Intifada

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – People in the Gaza Strip staged demonstrations in solidarity with their fellow Palestinians in the West Bank while a wave of Israeli violence has sparked a new uprising, or Intifada, against the Tel Aviv regime.

Groups of national and Islamic forces held demonstrations in the Gaza Strip on Saturday to reaffirm their solidarity with the anti-Israeli uprising in the West Bank, according to Al-Mayadeen TV channel.

The protesters called for unity in the face of the Zionist occupiers and rejection of any plan for dividing the al-Aqsa Mosque compound into sections and time segments.

They also called for the spread of the Intifada across Palestine, stressing that “resistance” remains to be the sole option for liberating Palestine.

Tensions have run high in Palestine since early October following a fresh wave of Israel’s slaughter of Palestinians in the West Bank, in response to what is seen as the Third Intifada.

In all, 72 Palestinians have been killed since the spate of protests erupted in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Palestinians have also killed 10 Israelis in that period.

On Friday, Israeli forces shot dead a 72-year-old Palestinian woman as she drove her car into a petrol station in Halhul, a town in the Hebron-area of the West Bank.

Ashrawi’s family said that she was simply at the petrol station to fill up her car.
