Iran’s Defense Industry Deterred Enemy Invasion, Says Deputy DM

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami praised the country’s military capabilities, saying that the progress in the defense industry despite decades of sanctions has made enemies think twice before planning any action against Iran.

“Over the past 37 years, the enemies, with all their efforts and by various means, have sought to jeopardize and, if possible, overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Establishment,” General Hatami said in a speech on Tuesday.

He added that the economic sanctions imposed against Iran by certain Western countries are clear examples of the enemies’ attempts to undermine the Islamic Republic.

The commander went on to say that in response, faithful actions by the Iranian people and government proved to the enemies that they are able to overcome their problems with the grace of God.

“A clear example of such sincere actions is seen in the defense industry, where the Iranian youths managed to dash the enemies’ hopes of a military invasion,” the deputy defense minister said.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to the regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
