Kremlin: Putin, Trump May Meet in Coming Months

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump is unlikely to be held in coming weeks, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Saturday. But it may happen in coming months.

Peskov pointed out that the US president was focusing on US issues, Sputnik reported.

He said that the date of the meeting would be probably discussed during a phone conversation between Putin and Trump. Peskov added that the meeting may be held in coming months.

The Russian Foreign Ministry had earlier slammed what it described as a master-slave approach by outgoing US President Barack Obama’s administration towards Moscow.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday that Obama had promised respectful cooperation with Russia in 2009 but his government adopted "ridiculous and shameful attitude" toward Moscow.
