Yemeni Forces Kill Several Saudi-Mercenaries in Ambush Attacks in Taiz, Al-Jawf

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A number of Saudi-backed forces were killed and injured in an ambush attack in the provinces of Al-Jawf and Taiz on Sunday.

The Yemeni Al-Masirah news channel reported that the Army and the Popular Committees launched an offensive on the positions of Saudi-backed forces in Al-Dhabab region in southeastern province of Taiz, leaving several dead and wounded.

Another group of Saudi-mercenaries were also killed in an ambush near Salbah area in Khub Wa Al-Sha’af district of Al-Jawf province.

The Engineering Unit of the Army destroyed three Saudi military vehicles using improvised explosive devices, in Khalifin area of Khub Wa Al-Sha’af district, killing the enemy forces on board.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights announced in a statement on March 25 that the war had left 600,000 civilians dead and injured until then. The war and the accompanying blockade have also caused famine across Yemen.
