Coronavirus: Iran's Official Death Toll Passes 26,500
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Health Ministry spokeswoman, Sima Sadat Lari, said on Friday that the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 464,596 and the death toll is above 26,500.
“With 187 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the virus has reached 26,567. Unfortunately, we have had 3,552 new cases since yesterday,” Lari said on state TV.
She also put the number of those who have so far recovered from the viral infection at 385,264.
The coronavirus outbreak has infected over 34.5 million people around the world. The global death toll from the pandemic is now more than 1,028,000.
