Iran One of Most Entertaining Teams to Watch: VNL 2021
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran easily is one of the most entertaining teams to watch in volleyball, largely thanks to its wizard setter Said Marouf.
Iran will start the 2021 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) with a match against Japan in Rimini. Italy on Friday.
The team has been on the rise in recent years, although it lacks consistent play. However, in any given day, it can lash out unexpected performances like the ones that netted it a bronze medal finish at last year’s Grand Champions Cup.
A high-offense team, it will have to find balance in its game in the defensive side of the court to be able to make things go its way, volleymob.com reported.
Like said before, Marouf is the team’s superstar. He easily contends for the title of best setter in the world. However, volleyball is a team game, and although he will be asked to carry the team on his back, he’ll need a lot of help if Iran plans to make the competition’s Final 6. Maybe one of its youth players will rise to the occasion.
