Raeisi Vows Iran’s Push for Regional Peace

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The new president of Iran pledged that his administration will spare no effort to reinforce regional peace and stability.

In a Thursday meeting with Armenia’s prime minister in Tehran, President Ebrahim Raeisi stressed the need for collective efforts to ensure regional security and peace.

Tensions and clashes would not be beneficial to anybody, the Iranian president added, noting that Tehran will spare no effort to deepen stability and peace among the regional countries.

He also said that the governments of Iran and Armenia are determined to enhance the mutual and regional cooperation with rapport, highlighted the two neighbors’ capacities in various economic, trade, scientific and technological fields, and expressed Iran’s resolve to complete and carry out the joint projects with Armenia.

For his part, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Yerevan attaches great significance to the expansion of relations with Tehran.

Expressing confidence that the promotion of relation between the two states will accelerate during the new Iranian president’s tenure, Pashinyan said Armenia is at the highest level of readiness to boost and strengthen ties with the Islamic Republic.

Ebrahim Raeisi, who was endorsed by Leader of the Islamic Revolution as the 8th president of Iran on Tuesday, says the main priority in his administration’s foreign policy agenda will be maintaining close and friendly relations with the neighbors.
