Israeli Attacks on Gaza Cause ‘Massive Explosion’

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A refugee camp was reportedly targeted in Israeli airstrikes that caused a “massive explosion” in the central part of the besieged Palestinian territory of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli attacks took place in the early hours of Sunday, resulting in a “massive explosion” in the targeted area.

Various outlets specified the target as the Nuseirat refugee camp located in Gaza’s Deir al-Balah City.

Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television network said the exact area struck during the attacks was the Arin base, which is affiliated to Gaza’s resistance groups.

The raids come no longer than a day after the regime attacked Palestinian protesters rallying along Gaza’s border with the occupied territories.

At least 17 Palestinians, including 10 children, were wounded during the earlier incident, which saw the forces firing live ammunition against the protesters.

Tel Aviv’s indiscriminate raids come while Gaza’s resistance groups, Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, have warned it strongly against its tempting another full-scale defensive operation.

The last such operation, called Sword of al-Quds, saw the groups rain down around 4,000 rockets on the occupied territories.

The movements staged the defensive campaign in response to the Israeli regime’s last war on the territory that saw it bombing the enclave for 12 straight days during May.

The counterattacks started soon after the war began and caused millions of dollars in damage on the occupied territories.

The operation forced the regime to desperately call for a ceasefire and initiation of foreign mediatory efforts in order to have the resistance groups stop their rocket barrages.
