Ghasempour Earns Iran’s Third Gold at World Wrestling C’ships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Kamran Ghasmpour seized a gold medal at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships on Monday.

It was Iran’s third gold medal in the competition.

Ghasempour defeated Magomed Kurbanov from Russia 8-4 in the final match of the 92kg.

Azerbaijan’s Osman Nurmagomedov and J'den Cox from USA won bronze medal.

Hassan Yazdani in the 86kg and Amir Hossein Zare in the 125kg had won two gold medals for Iran on Sunday.

Alireza Sarlak in the 57kg, Amir Mohammad Yazdani in the 65kg and Mohammad Nokhodi in the 79kg had also claimed three silver medals.

A total of 800 wrestlers from 100 countries are competing at the Wrestling World Championships, being held from October 2 to 10 in Oslo, Norway.
