Mehdi Seyedali Chosen to Officiate Tehran Derby
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mehdi Seyedali was appointed to referee the Tehran derby between Persepolis and Esteghlal.
The 43-year-old referee will be assisted by Mohammad Reza Mansouri and Farhad Moraveji.
The match will be held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Thursday.
Persepolis and Esteghlal are both favorites to win the Iran Professional League (IPL) title in the current season.
Tehran derby is arguably the most important derby in Asia.
At the end of IPL Matchweek 22, Esteghlal sits top of the table with 54 points, six points above Persepolis.
