Iran Loses to Kazakhstan at FIBA U-16 Women’s Asian Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Kazakhstan 56-46 in Division B of the FIBA U-16 Women’s Asian Championship 2022 on Sunday.
Kazakhstan led for most of the game, Iran was always a threat to overtake the lead and the twos teams did switch leads 9 times. In the end, Iran was held scoreless for the last 5 minutes of the game, leaving the victory for Kazakhstan to claim.
Farnaz Khodamoradi led Iran with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Kazakhstan’s Anna Kochura led the team in scoring with 16 points.
Iran, who came third in Group B after Lebanon and Kazakhstan, will play Syria on Tuesday
These two teams will play to qualify for the Semi-Finals where the winner will face Lebanon.
