Iran Loses to S. Korea at 2022 Asian Women's Handball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to South Korea 41-11 in Group A of the 2022 Asian Women's Handball Championship on Wednesday.

Iran had previously defeated India, Uzbekistan and Australia in the competition.

Team Melli Banovan has already booked its place at the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship as one of top five teams.

Iran is scheduled to meet Japan on Friday in the semifinals.

The 2022 Asian Women's Handball Championship is the 19th edition of the Asian Women's Handball Championship. It is taking place in South Korea from November 24 to December 4.

The tournament is being held under the aegis of the Asian Handball Federation and acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top five teams qualifying.
