Thousands in Bahrain Rally for Palestine on International Quds Day

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Thousands of people took to the streets in Bahrain to express solidarity with the Palestinian people on International Quds Day.

They demanded the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador to Manama following Israeli forces’ incursions into al-Aqsa Mosque and violent attacks on Palestinian worshipers.

Demonstrators gathered in various villages, including Abu Saiba, Shakhura, Ma'ameer, al-Musalla, Shahrakan, Dumistan, and Nuwaidrat, to condemn Israeli crimes against the Palestinian nation and call on the international community not to remain silent on the issue.

In Bilad al-Qadeem suburb of the capital, Manama, people also held a rally to mark International Quds Day and show their support for Palestinians. In Sitra Island, south of Manama, people marched along the streets to voice their solidarity with the Palestinian nation.

The protesters carried placards in Arabic, with messages such as “Israel! Your house is that of a spider (fragile),” “West Bank is the shield of al-Quds,” and “Bahraini nation rejects normalization.”

The Bahraini protesters expressed their opposition to the normalization of relations between Manama and Tel Aviv and emphasized their support for the Palestinian issue and the resistance of its people against the Israeli regime. They called for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador from Bahrain and the rejection of any cooperation with the Tel Aviv regime.

The demonstrators vowed to continue their support for the oppressed Palestinian nation against Israeli atrocities and to never abandon the issue of Palestine as the foremost and principal issue of the Muslim world.

International Quds Day is marked every year on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, with worldwide rallies commemorating the Palestinian people’s resistance against Israel and their struggle to liberate their territories, which have been occupied by Israel for decades.

The resistance movements in Gaza and elsewhere have vowed to confront the Israeli regime on multiple fronts, following strict restrictions on the entry and exit of Palestinians to and from the gates of al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan. Israeli settlers have also continued their frequent incursions and provocative rituals at the holy site.

On April 6, resistance fighters launched rockets from southern Lebanon and Gaza toward Israeli-occupied territories in retaliation against Israeli aggression against al-Aqsa. Israeli warplanes responded by hitting targets inside Gaza and positions of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in Lebanon. Palestinian sources said the Iron Dome failed to intercept most of the retaliatory rockets.
