Iran-Turkey Trade about $3.5 Billion in 8 Months: TURKSTAT

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The trade exchanges between Iran and Turkey in the first eight months of the current year reached about $3.5 billion, registering a 19 percent decline compared to the same period last year.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) in its latest report announced that the trade exchange of Turkey with Iran from January to August 2023 hit $3.490.

This is while that the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries from January to August 2022 stood at $4.330.

According to this report, the Republic of Turkey exported over $1.946 billion to Iran from January to August 2023, showing no significant change in value compared to the same period last year.

Turkey imported over $1.544 billion worth of non-oil products from Iran in the first eight months of the current year in 2023, showing over 35 percent decline compared to last year’s corresponding period, the report added.

The balance of trade exchanges between Iran and Turkey has amounted to $402 million in favor of Turkey since the beginning of 2023.
