Israeli Crimes in Gaza Escalating Regional Clashes: Amirabdollahian

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of Iran denounced the Zionist regime’s relentless atrocities against the Gaza Strip as a reason behind the escalation of clashes across the region, warning the US and Israel that the resistance groups won’t remain silent on these crimes.

In a meeting with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held in Doha on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said the Zionist regime’s continued crimes against the defenseless people of Gaza and the siege of the enclave have resulted in a gradual increase in the reactions and the escalation and extension of clashes in the region.

Naturally, the resistance groups and currents will not stay silent on the wide array of Israeli crimes and the US’ supports for the atrocities, he underlined.

Stressing the need to seize the “last political opportunities” to end the war in Gaza, Amirabdollahian warned that if the situation spins out of control, nobody will be spared the consequences.

“It is necessary to implement the common and integrated stance of the Islamic countries in support of the Palestinian nation in practical manner,” he stressed, calling on the Muslim nations to make every effort to force the Israeli regime to end the war crimes and genocide in Gaza and lift the siege of the enclave.

For his part, the Qatari emir highlighted the significance of consultations between Doha and Tehran, saying the bilateral interaction will serve the interests of the two nations, benefit the regional states, and provide support for the Palestinians.

Condemning the Zionist regime’s “unacceptable and unbearable” crimes against the Palestinian people, Al Thani said the massive rallies held across the world in support of Palestine signify the global hatred of the Israeli crimes.

He also underscored that Qatar will keep efforts to stop the Israeli onslaught against Gaza and end the war.

At least 8,525 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in Israeli attacks since October 7, when Hamas launched a surprise operation outside Gaza.

UN officials have appealed to the Security Council for a ceasefire, as the head of UNICEF warns that more than 420 children are being killed or injured in Gaza every day.
