Iran Warns of Eruption of Region’s Wrath after US, UK Strikes on Yemen

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of Iran condemned the American and British airstrikes against Yemen, saying he has cautioned his UK counterpart that such acts of aggression could incur the region’s wrath.

“We strongly condemn the US and British military attacks on Yemen and the US aggression on Iraq and Syria,” Hossein Amirabdollahian said in a post on his X account on Sunday.

“In my meeting with the UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, I clearly said, ‘Continuation of war is not the solution.’ (You) do not (want to) test the wrath of the region. We consider the security of Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Palestine (Gaza and the West Bank) to be the security of the region,” he wrote in the post, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

Fresh UK and US airstrikes reportedly hit 36 sites in Yemen on Saturday.

The Ansarullah forces said the capital Sana’a and the port city of Hudaydah had been struck.

On Friday, the US launched dozens of air strikes in Iraq and Syria. Civilians were among at least 16 people killed in Iraq.
