Iran Beaten by Cuba at FIVB Men's U-23 World Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Cuba 3-1 (33-31, 25-23, 15-25, 26-24) in Pool A of 2015 FIVB Men's U-23 World Championship at Al Nasr Hall in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday.
Mestre Uriarte topped the scorers with 23 points for Cuba while Javad Hosseinabadi was the best scorer for Iran with 20 points.
Iran is scheduled to meet Italy on Friday.
Peyman Akbari’s men have defeated the UAE and South Korea in their previous matches.
The top two teams in both pools will progress to the semifinals and finals. The third and fourth placed teams from the pool stage will enter a similar playoff format playing for classification from fifth to eighth.
