Result Was Fair: Jose Morais
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan football team head coach Jose Morais said that the result against Al Ittihad was fair.
Sepahan lost to the Saudi Arabian team 2-1 at the AFC Champions League 2023-24 group stage on Monday.
Sepahan's fate is out of its hands as its hopes are now dependent on how the remaining two groups conclude, with the three best second-placed teams to also advance to the Round of 16.
“We played two home matches outside of our stadium. I hope we will play at home if we qualify for the knockout stage,” Morais said.
“It was a very close match and the atmosphere and fans were great. However, the result was fair for Ittihad,” said the Sepahan head coach.
“We wanted to win the match. Sepahan was not going to earn a draw but we conceded two goals,” the Portuguese added.
